Beginning Oct. 28, 2017, for just the third time in its 48-year  history, the Professional Protector Plan (PPP) will begin an exciting transition from the current underwriting carrier, CNA Insurance Company, to a new carrier, Aspen American Insurance Company (AAIC).  
MDA Insurance, the exclusive state administrator for the PPP in Michigan since 1993, fully supports this change, which will broaden coverage, strengthen the program and improve claim service.  Everything you know and value from your PPP policy will remain unchanged. In fact, it will still be the PPP!  The staff at MDA Insurance, as well as the relationship with defense attorney Lynda Farnen, will also remain.  The new policy enhancements and other features that will accompany this change will only improve upon the excellent coverage already offered by the PPP.  Rates will decrease or remain stable.
The transition process to AAIC will take place automatically as policies renew after Oct. 28, 2017. Your PPP renewal date and policy number will not change. Per State of Michigan requirements, a notice of cancellation for your CNA PPP policy will be sent to you approximately 30 days before your renewal date. Your policy will then be automatically rewritten with AAIC when it renews according to its normal schedule. You do not need take any action. Contact MDA Insurance at 800-860-2272 with questions.
