MDA Insurance Named PPP State Administrator of the Year

For the third time in nine years, MDA Insurance has received the coveted State Administrator of the Year Award from Brown & Brown, broker for the Professional Protector Plan (PPP) program.  The award for State Administrator of the Year was presented at the biennial national PPP Conference, held June 9-12, in St. Petersburg, FL.

MDA Insurance competes for this annual award with more than 50 other plan administrators across the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, including resource-rich agencies and large brokerages. It recognizes the one PPP administrator exhibiting the best customer service, growth, retention, underwriting, marketing and program management in the country. The PPP is the largest dental malpractice program in the United States, and MDA Insurance has the exclusive right to offer coverage to Michigan dentists.

“It’s quite a surprise and a huge honor,” says Jeff Spindler, director of property/casualty programs for MDA Insurance. “This is a testament to how hard everybody here works, and to what a good job they do. All the credit goes to our staff, who truly deserve this recognition, and to our partners at CNA and Brown & Brown. We take a lot of pride in what we do and how well we do it. We try to write as much new business as we can, and we do our best to retain the business we have. We try to be involved in many discussions, from coverage improvements to application redesign. Efforts like this are taken into consideration when the award winner is determined. I hope the staff and our Board are as proud of this accomplishment as I am.”

MDA Insurance received the State Administrator of the Year Award in 2005 and 2000. MDA Insurance and MDA Services President Craig Start also attended the convention and praised the agency for its quality performance.

“I’m proud of Jeff and his entire team for distinguishing our agency with this honor,” Start said. “It is amazing that we have won this award three times in nine years, and that is because of the quality of service and the dedication of our staff. MDA members are being well served by our professional liability team of Tina Croley, Misty Ward, Jill Anderson and Susan Tonelli.”
