Large Group Health Insurance Solutions
The Affordable Care Act mandates employers with 50 or more full-time equivalent employees to provide affordable health insurance to their employees, or pay a penalty. The large-employer mandate takes effect in 2016. Affordable means the employee’s share of the premium cost for self-only coverage does not exceed 9.5 percent of his or her income. Employers have many health insurance choices with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

Simply BlueSM group plans meet your budget while savings your employees money. This family of products offers a traditional PPO plan and plans with health savings accounts or health reimbursement arrangements. The Simply BlueSM PPO HSA and Simply BlueSM HRA options are called consumer-directed health care plans and foster employee accountability for health care spending. Simply Blue Routine Care PPO silver and bronze plans cover preventive care at 100 percent and routine medical services with a co-payment and a multi-tier prescription drug plan.

Blue Care Network is the HMO option available from the Blues and offers a suite of HMO products. Although less popular in the dental community due to the plans’ managed care philosophy, these plans may be a good alternative for some practices.
