One of the greatest benefits of being a member of the Michigan Dental Association is your ability to participate in the exclusive MDA Health Plan. Since late 2014, the MDA Health Plan has provided for the health care needs of thousands of MDA members, their families and staff. Now in our sixth year, our health plan has proved to provide a stable, cost-effective means for member dentists to protect the health and well-being of themselves and their loved ones, as well as their critical staff members.

Open Enrollment for the MDA Health Plan begins Oct. 15 and concludes Nov. 30 for benefits effective Jan. 1, 2021. The open enrollment period is the only time you can change your plan, the number of hours employees must work to be eligible for the plan, the waiting period to join the plan, how much you contribute to the plan and when employees are terminated from the plan after they leave your employment. In early July, eligibility verifications for 2021 were mailed to participating practices. We use this information to confirm eligibility, non-discrimination compliance and to prepare your rate and plan renewal package for 2021. It is important that you complete and return this information to us no later than Aug. 31. Early submitters receive their information sooner and have more time to evaluate choices.
MDA members who are employers can establish an MDA Health Plan for their group at any time and your employees can join during the initial enrollment period or if they have a subsequent qualifying event.
