• Individual health plans: Special open enrollment ends Aug. 15 for Marketplace assistance. Open enrollment then reopens Nov. 1 through Dec. 15 for new plans, such as MyBlue or subsidized health plans purchased through MDA Insurance via the online Marketplace. Currenlty, these windows are the only times you can start a new individual plan unless you experience a qualifying event.
• MDA Health Plan: New groups can be started at any time during the year! The window for adding new participants or making changes to existing plans is Oct. 15 through Nov. 30 for a Jan. 1 effective date.
• Small group plans: New groups can be started at any time during the year! The window for adding new participants or making changes to existing plans is during the month of the enrollment anniversary.
• Medicare Supplement plans, Medicare Advantage and Medigap plans: Oct. 15 through Dec. 7 for a Jan. 1 effective date. This is the time for changes to Medicare plans.
