How endorsements are selected

Programs endorsed by the MDA undergo a selection process beginning with MDA members volunteering on the Committee on Endorsed Services. They donate their time to identify the business and financial service needs of the membership and work with the staff of MDA Services to find vendors that can best meet those needs. After receiving direction from the committee, staff finds qualified vendors and prepares and issues a request for proposals. Each RFP stipulates a member discount or product enhancement, and a royalty payment to the MDA is required. Royalties based on sales to members generate non-dues revenue. Responses are analyzed, references are contacted, dental association colleagues are consulted, and the most promising companies are invited to present to the committee. The committee will then make a recommendation to the MDA Insurance & Financial Group Board of Directors. The prospective endorsed company then presents to the IFG Board, also a volunteer group of dentists, and answers questions. If the Board believes the company is worthy, it recommends to the MDA Board that it endorse the product or company. Ultimately, the MDA Board makes the endorsement decision. When the MDA endorses something, you should be comfortable knowing that the firm and the product has been properly vetted, and that you will get a better deal as an MDA member than you could negotiate for yourself. And, your purchase supports the MDA. Please support our endorsed vendors found at mdaprograms.com.
