Health Care 101: Back to Basics: Health care must-know facts for 2023

This year, MDA Insurance is getting back to basics when presenting its health insurance seminars. By attending the seminar, participants can earn three free CE credits, and come away with a better understanding of how to compare and evaluate health insurance plans. The language of health insurance will be demystified. Terms such as deductible, co-pay, co-insurance, and true out-of-pocket costs will be explained, different types of networks will be discussed, and the metal tier labels that commercial health plans use to classify the actuarial value of health plans will be covered. We’ll even explain what an actuarial value is. Of course, updates to health insurance plans will be discussed, and the differences between commercial health plans and the MDA Health Plan will be highlighted.
Participants will come away with a clearer understanding of health insurance, what every commercial health plan must cover, the differences between individual and group plans, and why the MDA Health Plan can provide better and less costly coverage than other group plans. All seminars begin at 9 a.m. and end at 12 noon, unless otherwise indicated. The seminar will be offered at four locations around the state, so register for the one that is most conveniently located.
