Vision Insurance for Dentists

Vision insurance is now available to all MDA members through the largest non-profit vision insurer in the country. Most members live within 10 miles of a VSP-participating doctor and can take advantage of coverage that may include exams, discounted lenses and frames, or contact lenses.

MDA offers members two VSP insurance options:

  • Basic plan provides an eye exam and lenses annually and new frames every two years.  The plan pays up to $140 for frames. There is a $5 co-pay for a vision exam.
  • Premier plan provides all services of the basic plan but allows for new frames annually with a $200 limit, including progressive lenses for a $20 co-payment. There is a $5 co-pay for a vision exam.

The Basic and Premier plans are available to all members.

Being a VSP member also gives you access to deep discounts on hearing aids through TruHearing.
Savings of up to $2,400 on digital hearing aids are available through VSP and TruHearing.
