Understanding the new federal health care law

The Patient Protection and Affordability Care Act was signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010. The companion bill, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act was signed into law March 30, 2010. Together, these two laws constitute the new federal health care reform law.
